Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) on Wednesday accelerated former gamers Mahela Jayawardene and Zaheer Khan to new roles of world head of overall performance and international head of cricket improvement respectively. The appointments have been a part of MI`s significant enlargement plan.
According to an MI statement, Jayawardene can be offering senior management to the group’s cricket operations worldwide, along with universal strategic planning, the introduction of an included international high-overall performance eco-system, in addition to the obligation for every team’s education and assist structures.
Mumbai Indians Franchise Support Staff: Former veteran pacer Zaheer Khan and former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene have been part of the Mumbai Indians team for a long time. This most successful team of IPL has now changed the responsibilities of both. Actually, Mumbai Indians is now increasing its stake in other cricket leagues apart from IPL. Jayawardene was serving as the head coach of Mumbai Indians while Zaheer Khan was handling the responsibility as the team director (cricket operations). From now on, the responsibilities of both of them have been changed.
From now on the responsibility of the three teams
According to a statement issued by the Mumbai Indians team, Jayawardene and Zaheer Khan will now work for all three teams of this franchise, Mumbai Indians in IPL, MI Emirates in ILT20 and MI Cape Town in South Africa T20. Former Sri Lanka batsman Jayawardene has been made the Global Head (Performance) of the franchise. Zaheer Khan will from now on hold the responsibility as Global Head Cricket (Development).
