We were not able to take that…. – Rohit reveal the turning point of losing the match

As we all know that the Indian cricket team lost the first match between INDIA and AUSTRALIA, the captain of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma has blamed the bowlers for their defeat in the first T20 match of the 3-match series against Australia. Rohit Sharma and the team lost the match despite scoring 208 runs. Australia won the match at the loss of 6 wickets with 4 balls to spare and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

After the defeat, Rohit admitted that the team did not take advantage of the opportunities given in the field and the bowling was also bad. Famously known as ‘Hitman’ in world cricket, Rohit said, ‘I don’t think we bowled that well. 200 is good enough to defend but we didn’t take advantage of the opportunities we got on the field.

It was a turning point that might prove a game-changer. Hence, Rohit said in the post-match presentation that-

“You can back yourself to defend 60 runs in the final 4 overs. We were not able to take that extra wicket. That was the turning point, if we would have taken another wicket, things would have been different. You can’t score 200 every day, you need to bat well. Hardik batted really well to get us there. We need to look at our bowling before the next game.”

Team India, batting first after losing the toss, scored a big score of 208 runs for 6 wickets thanks to Suryakumar Yadav (46 runs), apart from half-centuries from all-rounder Hardik Pandya (71 not out) and opener KL Rahul (55 runs). The visiting Australian team won the match on the basis of Matthew Wade’s unbeaten knock of 45 runs in 21 balls after Cameron Green’s (61 runs) half-century.

The second T20 match of the series will be played on 23 September in Nagpur.
