Utah Jazz confirmed the lousy state of New York Knicks – NBA

The Jazz came from behind against a Knicks who have problems at the end of games. Mitchell was the best in numbers and Randle and Barrett were again above everyone in New York.

Utah Jazz needed a victory and New York Knicks paid the piper. After a week of many doubts and five consecutive losses in Utah, the team renewed itself with three important wins and this last one against the Knicks who allowed themselves to come from behind in the fourth quarter to finish 113-104.

The New Yorkers started like a shot and kept their opponent at bay for most of the match. Led by Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett, always protagonists in his team, proved to have enough weapons to stand up to the Jazz.

Mitchell Robinson took advantage of Rudy Gobert’s loss to roam freely through the rival paint and unleash chaos. 19 points, 21 rebounds and 8 of 11 shooting from the field for the interior of the Knicks who was unstoppable.

This, added to the 30 and 23 points of Randle and Barrett, respectively, allowed the Manhattan team to reach the last quarter with an advantage on the scoreboard and the feeling of having the game under control.

However, the Utah Jazz had other plans: They gradually woke up and took the game to the mud. The Jazz closed ranks on defense and took advantage of the rest minutes of the New York starters to do damage.

The Knicks’ bench barely scored 11 points all night, revealing Thibodeau’s serious roster depth problem and the first unit’s dependence on him.

The New York Knicks had the same cold problem that they suffered against the Los Angeles Lakers. A team that has two outstanding players -Randle and Barrett- and does things well, but in the end it seems to be the worst in the championship.

The partial of the last quarter (31-18 in favor of Utah) was anchored in the defense of the Jazz and the bad success of their rival. The Knicks finished the night with 37% in field goals and 24% in triples, numbers that ended up weighing down their chances of victory.

On the Jazz, with Gobert absent, Donovan Mitchell took the lead. He was not very successful from the triple -2 of 10- but he made up for it from the middle and short distance to finish with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.

The Utah Jazz took the game after never giving up and chained their third consecutive victory to remain firm in fourth place in the Western Conference.

The New York Knicks have one of their worst moments and, after starting the regular season in the top spots, they are even out of the playoffs in 12th place in the East with only 2 wins in 10 games.
