Nani: from being free in MLS to being decisive in Serie A. The Portuguese striker arrived in Venezia two days before the match, made his debut and needed less than two minutes to be key to the result – Playon99 News

Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha ‘Nani’ has landed on his feet at Venezia and in just a few minutes on the pitch he is already loved by the fans.

His thing has been to arrive and kiss the saint: on Friday his signing was announced and two days later he has already made his debut being decisive for his team.

Not only that, but Nani was key in the agonizing 1-1 draw against Empoli.

The former Sporting CP, Manchester United, Fenerbahçe, Valencia, Lazio and Orlando City started as a substitute and jumped off the bench to come back from the match.

The 35-year-old Portuguese winger came on for Cristian Molinaro in the 72nd minute, with the score already 0-1 against his team because Szymon Zurkowski had put Empoli ahead in the first half.

His impact on the match and on the result was immediate: 115 seconds it took him to give his first assist with the gondolier team!

The player who was free after his time in the MLS, where he was champion, started the play on the left, threw a good wall with Mattia Aramu and ended up giving in for David Okereke to score the equalizer as soon as he entered the field of play.

Nani, who has signed until 2023, has the mission with his team to save the newly promoted Venezia, which, for now, is two points and one place above relegation.

To face the difficult path of staying in Serie A, the newly promoted and sensation of the tournament for their beautiful shirts, hired this winter – in addition to Nani – Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich.

In the summer window, the first one ahead of their promotion to the top flight, they had already moved well in the market: they closed Manchester United’s Sergio Romero, Bruges’ Okereke, Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu and Milan’s Mattia Caldara.
