The Los Angeles Lakers returned to the path of victory with LeBron James after defeating the New York Knicks: at 37 years old, the NBA GOAT recorded 29 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in 40 minutes of play, in a game at the which was a last-minute doubt due to his discomfort in his left knee.

The Lakers point guard had an impressive performance, although at times he left doubts, and he declared:

“It feels great to be out there with my teammates, being a leader and giving everything, I have. It was a great win for us”.

The Los Angeles team turned around a match that kept the emotions going until the end of the dispute.

With a strong performance from shooting guard RJ Barrett -he finished with a career-high 36 points- and Julius Randle with 32 points and 16 rebounds, the Knicks had built a big lead, but suffered a final slump.

Anthony Davis and Malik Monk were LeBron’s squires to make the score 122-115: Monk scored 25 of his 29 points after the break and Davis shone with a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds.

The Knicks crushed the hosts 42-29 in the first half, a lead that rose to 71-56, and when it looked like the Lakers would suffer another loss this season, James and company brought their team back to life.

The eternal Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers player did not have a good night, but legends are like that and they do not stop trying shots and penetrations until they turn the situation around.

The LeBron effect was immediate: by the third quarter the Lakers put things 87-84 and, from this quarter, it seemed that the locals would easily take the victory, but the New York Knicks tied the game at the edge of regular time.

With a tremendous exhibition by Rowan Alexander and Julius Randle, the Knicks gave the Los Angeles Lakers one last scare by putting the cards 111-111 and taking the game to overtime.

The locals could not believe it, since they were only a few seconds away from winning the match, although they managed to impose conditions in extra time and took the victory by 122-115.

LeBron’s team climbed to ninth position in the NBA Western Conference and is still far from direct entry to the Playoffs, while the New York Knicks are still in trouble, stuck in 12th place in the East and out of playoff income.
