So who will be the winner of IPL League 2022?

IPL season has always been an exciting event for all of us and cricket fans across the world are eyeing TV sets and digital sets (mobile devices) to play their favorite players. Recently, several players have registered their names for the IPL league 2022 and many are yet to be selected in the Mega Auction to be held on February 12 and 13 this year.

A handful of players have been retained this year including two new teams, one being Lucknow Super Giants and CVC Capitals.

This year it is going to be the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. Let’s know something interesting and happening in IPL.

When and where will the IPL auction be held?

IPL auction is going to be held on February 12 and 13. As mentioned, this is going to be a 2 day event. This event is likely to be held in Bangalore.

How many players have registered for the event so far?

To be precise, around 1214 players have signed up for the event in which 318 players are from overseas while 896 are Indian players.

What were the retention rules by BCCI before Auction 2022?

The rules were as follows, let’s go point by point:

  • A team cannot retain more than 4 players in its team
  • The retention ratio for foreign players in the team should not be more than 2 and Indian players should not exceed 3.
  • A team can retain only 2 uncapped players
  • For the players to be retained, there will be a cost, and out of the total of 90 crores the value is 42 crores, to be more precise, the first retained player will cost 16 crores, the second retained players the cost will be 12 crores and for the third and fourth player it will be 8 and 6 crores respectively.
  • For a team that has opted to retain only 3 players, it will cost Rs 33 crore 15 crore for the first retained player, 11 crore for the second retained player and Rs 7 crore for the third player respectively.

In a rare scenario, some team has decided to overpay the players there for example KL Rahul has been bought as their first choice for 17 crores.

Another interesting scenario in the IPL Guiding Rules states that if the league fee for a retained player exceeds the prescribed amount, an amount equal to that fixed fee will be deducted from the franchise’s pay cup and the league fee is agreed to. In the event of the retained player being less than the prescribed fee, again an amount equal to that fixed fee will be deducted from the franchise’s pay cup.

Not the least to discuss, who will the winning team this year?

To be honest, it will be very difficult to judge at this given time that which team will take the 15 edition IPL trophy with them because there has been many changes and inclusions that took place this year which make it nearly impossible to say that which team will win IPL 2022.

Even you can reply back to us by telling your prediction of this IPL season with valuable inputs with why.
