Giovanni Simeone is completing his best season since he is in European soccer. His good performances and goals in Hellas Verona began to arouse the interest of important teams in Italy.

Simeone has scored 16 goals in the Italian Serie A. And in the scorers’ table he only appears behind Ciro Immobile‘s 26 and Dusan Vlahovic‘s 23. Moreover, he is on a par with a compatriot: Lautaro Martinez.

According to Corriere dello Sport,

Napoli are looking to strengthen their team’s attack. And they want to add Gio Simeone before the eventual departure of players like Lorenzo Insigne or Dries Mertens.

Simeone knows Italian soccer very well. And he is also closely followed by Milan, who are currently fighting for the Serie A title.

Simeone career

The 26-year-old striker was born in Madrid when his father, Diego Simeone, played for Atletico Madrid. But he became an Argentine national and was formed as a footballer at River Plate. Club with which he debuted in 2013.

After two years where he did not find regularity and did not match the coach’s taste, Simeone went on loan to Banfield. There he found a place in the team and paid with goals. But when he had to return to River Plate he was not taken into account. And they decided to sell him to Genoa in exchange for 5 million euros.

In his first stint in Italy he scored 14 goals in 37 games. And he began to attract the attention of other teams. So Fiorentina paid 17 million euros for his pass and got his services for the 2017-18 season.

In Florence he did not have his best version: he played 80 games and scored only 22 goals. And he was almost always a starter. So they looked for a way out and he lasted two seasons. Cagliari took advantage and paid 13 million for his pass.

Simeone arrived at Cagliari to be a starter and again had a place in a team. But again he was a victim of irregularity and had a poor record: 18 goals in 72 games.

Looking for a quick exit, Hellas Verona got him on loan. And there he performed with a goal average of 0.5 per game. He even became a mainstay of the team scoring important goals. But now it seems that he will follow his path elsewhere.
