Despite receiving flak from all sides, team Indian coach Rahul Dravid has come in support of the young player, Rishabh Pant stating him as a young leader who has immense pressure on him at the moment. He came in support of the skipper because of helping the Indian team resurrect against the south Africans from 0-2 to 2-2, a fantastic effort made by the Indian team making a comeback.

The last 2 match efforts made by the skipper and his team proved out to be right also because if they wouldn’t, then definitely they could have lost the series against SA. We say this because the last decider match between the two was a disaster and was called off due to rain.

Many weren’t happy but many were just because of one reason, and that is the Indian team fate getting decided without with a loss.

Well, coming back to Rishabh Pant, the skipper helped the team make a fantastic comeback and needs to be appreciated. On the same Rahul Dravid said,

“To bring a team back from 0-2 down and to level it at 2-2 and give us a chance to win was good. Captaincy is not about wins and losses only. He (Pant) is a young captain, growing as leader. It is too early to judge him and you don’t want to do that after one series,” Dravid said in the post-match conference on Sunday”

He further said,

“It was nice to see he has got opportunities to lead, keep, and bat. He had a lot of loads on him but gaining from that experience and credit to him for ensuring that we went from 0-2 down to 2-2,”

Alongside Rishabh Pant, the head coach Rahul Dravid also praised two more individuals without their contributions the Indian side wouldn’t have been where there are positioned currently. This we are talking about same Ind vs. SA series.

Those two individuals are Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik. With their fantabulous innings, the series was well-received especially being in the middle order and playing the finishing innings.

Rishabh has been rested for the match against Ireland however, taking his place would be Hardik Pandya who will be leading the team. India vs Ireland first T20I will be commencing from 26th June in Dublin.
