Tottenham scored five goals against Lampard’s Everton and showed that when they want to, they can be a team for great things. Kane, Son, and Reguilón scored the goals, but Doherty and Kulusevski were the stars of Conte’s team in the Premier League.

Tottenham was a machine and thrashed Frank Lampard’s Everton from start to finish to return to winning ways after their FA Cup exit.

Spurs were far superior to their opponents and after 15 minutes of the match, they had already set the scoreboard with a flurry of goals.

First when Michael Keane opened the scoring with his own goal and three minutes later with a good play between Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski for Heung-Min Son to shoot at goal. Jordan Pickford’s response was not good at all.

Everton crumbled in spirit and in soccer there was no answer. Tottenham got bigger and bigger and before half-time, they found the third goal.

Matt Doherty threw a through ball from midfield and nullified the entire Everton defense for Kane to head towards goal and calmly slot home to make it 3-0 Tottenham.

The second half was another demonstration that when Tottenham wants to play and play, they can destroy the game.

In the first play of the second half, Sergio Reguilón -who had entered a few minutes earlier- entered the area and scored the goal from a ball that no one managed to clear.

The wound for Everton was painful and Spurs did not stop until it bled: the last goal of the night came on the hour mark with another great assist from Doherty – now over the top – for Kane to cross.

Antonio Conte’s team is going through a strange moment where they cannot sustain their good level and irregular results are commonplace in North London.

They go from scoring goals to losing to promoted teams. A few weeks ago, they beat Manchester City, leaders and last champion, and then lost to Burnley.

Then they recovered and beat Leeds 4-0, but in midweek they were eliminated from the FA Cup by Championship side Middlesbrough and now they have raised their heads again to crush Everton.

In the next Premier League matchday, Tottenham will have to face a beaten Manchester United, but nobody knows what can happen in that match.

Everton, on the other hand, is struggling: they are in 17th place in the Premier League with only one point ahead of Burnley, first among the relegation places.

Although they have two or even three games in hand on their rivals, Frank Lampard’s men need to improve their performance urgently to avoid the risk of relegation to the Championship next season.
