Premier League – Ten Hag is the candidate for Manchester United | Playon99 News

There was a meeting between Manchester United and Ten Hag to take over as coach, but details are still pending: they would meet with Pochettino to know the ideas of the project. The directors want to lay the foundations to become great again in the Premier League and Champions League.

By Facundo Di Bona (@facudibona).

With the imminent dismissal of Ralf Rangnick as manager and his possible move to the role of sporting director, Manchester United is thinking about the future of its next captain of the ship.

Rangnick will leave his position in the summer and the Manchester United board is already looking for his replacement in what will be a very difficult choice, after another season without titles and with Champions League qualification increasingly complicated.

As always, the premise is to lay the foundations of a solid project and Erik ten Hag is part of that strategy to consolidate in the Premier League.

The current Ajax coach has already been interviewed by Manchester United officials and, according to the Daily Mail, Ten Hag was given the go-ahead on Monday, but more candidates are expected to follow the same process in the coming days.

United officials began the search process in early March with Champions League elimination in hand and Premier League hopes dissolved, and among the possibilities is – in addition to Ten Hag – Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine coach is still in charge of PSG, but it is a fact that he will not be sitting on the bench at the Parc des Princes next season – only official confirmation is missing – and he is one step behind Ten Hag in the consideration of the managers.

There is a growing suspicion in Pochettino’s entourage that the job will go to Ten Hag, who will have no impediments to leaving Ajax.

The relationship between the Dutch coach and Ajax president Edwin van der Sar is good and would facilitate his departure, although it would demand an operation in which Manchester United would have to stick the Eredivisie side with around five million euros by way of compensation.

On the other hand, the process is expected to be delayed and there could still be something new: Julen Lopetegui, current coach of Sevilla, or Luis Enrique, of the Spanish national team, have also been sounded for the position, although the two alternatives are very remote and Ten Hag is waiting patiently.
