Manchester City won comfortably against Burnley and continues to depend on itself. Guardiola’s team will have a week full of emotions: they will face Atlético Madrid and Liverpool in search of the double. The objective will be to win the Champions League and the Premier League.

Liverpool’s victory over Watford had temporarily snatched the Premier League lead from Manchester City. But the Citizens were not fazed by the pressure.

The Manchester side beat Burnley 2-0 and will go into the big game with a two-point lead. The following week, Liverpool and Manchester City will meet, both with victories under their belts. Although there will be a previous Champions League stop.

Pep Guardiola held nothing back ahead of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Atlético Madrid. And Manchester City fielded almost all of its stars.

Aké replaced the injured Rúben Dias, and the Güngogan-Grealish duo beat the Bernardo Silva-Mahrez pairing. In addition, Foden once again played as a false striker. Although this could also give away a little of the coach’s intentions.

Manchester City, who had 77% of the possession, recorded a comfortable win at Turf Moor. Burnley’s resistance only lasted five minutes. Sterling provided a fine assist for De Bruyne, coming from behind, to fire into the top corner.

De Bruyne, the best in attack

It was a great goal for De Bruyne to register again in the Premier League. The Belgian already has 12 goals this season in all competitions and 10 were in this tournament. He is even the first midfielder to reach double figures in the Premier League.

The 2-0 lead came quickly. After 25 minutes, it was Sterling himself who provided another assist. This time, though, De Bruyne also combined with the England striker to set up play.

Sterling and the Belgian unlocked the play with a good one-two. The England striker then reached the byline and set up Güngogan to score.

After that Burnley did not react and seemed content to stem the bleeding. Sterling had a chance to make it 3-0 after a great through ball from Foden, but his shot went high.

Manchester City didn’t want any scares and came out determined to extend the lead after the break. Although goalkeeper Pope prevented it with two good saves almost in a row to Foden and Gündogan.

In the second half, substitute Gabriel Jesus also missed his chance. The Brazilian sent over a great chance after the umpteenth wall between De Bruyne and Sterling. Towards the end, Jesus himself had a shot that hit the post and another clear chance that he sent wid

Ederson, Manchester City’s goalkeeper, became just another spectator of his team’s dominance and added another clean sheet. Burnley only registered one shot on goal by Jay Rodriguez after most of the game had passed.

Towards the end, Manchester City took its foot off the accelerator and dosed the game to put the game to bed. The mind was already thinking about Atlético Madrid and Liverpool. Because Guardiola’s team is looking for everything: Champions League and Premier League.
