Anfield Road witnessed a massacre: Liverpool crushed Leeds and remained within striking distance of Manchester City. Salah and Mané had an exceptional night and even converted the central defenders. Bielsa’s side could be in the relegation zone – Playon99 News

Liverpool got within reach: they recovered their pending match and are three points behind Manchester City in the fight for the Premier League title.

The Citizens’ more than the twelve-point lead is now a thing of the past as Jurgen Klopp’s team has woken up. Both teams still have to meet next month. The Premier League is red hot.

At Anfield Road, Liverpool needed only half an hour to crush Leeds United. After 15 minutes it was Stuart Dallas who earned a penalty for handball in the box and Mo Salah stepped up to score the opening goal.

Just 15 minutes later, it was Joel Matip who drove, one-twined with the Egyptian striker, and slotted home to make it 2-0.

At 35 minutes of the same first half, Salah again took charge of a penalty kick from the penalty spot. Luke Ayling had brought down Sadio Mané and ended the bad start of the match.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men were very clumsy. They started with a very open approach and left spaces against an opponent that takes advantage of them in every match. A childish mistake against none other than Liverpool.

Mané scored his team’s fourth goal, but Mo Salah had a lot to do with it: the Egyptian provided the key pass for Jordan Henderson to set up the Senegalese.

Leeds tried to pull themselves together, but it was too late. The damage was done and the match was tipped for humiliation.

In the 90th minute, Mané again found a ball in front of the goal and calmly slotted home. All thanks to a rebound after a good play by Divock Origi.

At the end of the game and in added time, Virgil van Dijk wanted to get on the scoresheet. The Leeds defense was really amateurish and left all the space for the Dutchman to score the 6-0 at Anfield Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side is struggling: in their last three games, they lost to Everton (3-0), Manchester United (4-2), and this last one to Liverpool. That’s 13 goals conceded again.

A repetition of what happened in the first part of the season and that can now deepen: if Newcastle, Everton, and Burnley win their pending matches, Leeds will fall into the relegation zone.
