Chelsea has many suitors, but fans want to rule out one: the Ricketts family. The owners of the Chicago Cubs want to enter the Premier League and were accused of being Islamophobic by Blue fans.
By Facundo Di Bona (@facudibona).
In the absence of knowing who will be the new owner of Chelsea, their fans have already shown their dissatisfaction with one of those interested in the club: the Ricketts family.
A group of brothers who own the Chicago Cubs of MLB baseball and now intend to expand their business in the sports sector with the English soccer team, although their candidacy has been complicated in recent hours.
I'm very concerned that you are spreading positivity about a family who have a history of racism and poor ownership.

After publicly announcing that they were interested in Chelsea and had conducted a bid, Blues fans launched a campaign against the Ricketts because of their ideological ties.
The patriarch of the family, Joe Ricketts, has been accused of being an Islamophobe for a series of posts in which he described Muslims as “the enemy” and downplayed their chances.
Why on earth are you inviting the Ricketts family to London to discuss Chelsea ownership further? Do you understand how uncomfortable your players are going to be? And your staff? And your fans? Etc.

It would be controversial to land in a team like Chelsea, which has many Muslim players who would dislike the choice of an investment group that, according to different American media, would have financed Donald Trump’s campaigns.
His ideological position does not convince the Stamford Bridge fans, who turned the hastag #NoToRicketss into a trend on social networks.

“Chelsea Supporters’ Trust” (CST), which is the most recognized association among Chelsea fans, has asked the British government to give them a veto right over the new owner.
A scenario that is not far-fetched considering that it has the support of Tracey Crouch MP, who wants to include in the new law a “golden share” to give the fans the right to decide the future of their team.
The Ricketts are not fit to be the Club's next stewards.
If the decision-markers select them as finalists, they commit an open betrayal of Chelsea supporters.
We want owners who will invest in the Club, listen to supporters, and say no to hate in all its forms.#NoToRicketts

All after the scandal with Roman Abramovich and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the landing of Saudi Arabia in Newcastle.
However, the protests have not dampened the interest of the Ricketts, who are still considering buying Chelsea and have traveled to London to make a push, according to Sky Sports.
