Philadelphia 76ers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers – NBA – Playon99 News

Embiid walked the court in the Sixers 103-93 win over the Cavaliers. The regular season MVP candidate awaits Harden with open arms and a triple-double – Playon99 News

By Facundo Di Bona (@facudibona).

The day began with Daryl Morey greeting James Harden on the plane, another ceremonious step toward his debut with the Philadelphia 76ers, a franchise that will soon have the shooting guard playing with Joel Embiid, perhaps on Tuesday, against the Celtics.

While waiting for Harden, Embiid -two wins in two games since the transfer- shows his MVP level, a prize for which he is currently the favorite.

The Cleveland Cavaliers experienced it in the first person this morning: in a game that ended 103-93 and in which the Cameroonian center dismantled the interior that has the Cavs hanging around the head of the Eastern Conference, Embiid signed a triple-double of 40 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

He will also have to add 3 steals, 4/5 in triples, 14/15 in free throws. Unstoppable player numbers. Against Jarrett Allen one-on-one, faced with assists from one or more opponents, forced to pass, forced to make difficult shots, Embiid shattered every Cavs’ plan.

He was essential to open the game with a 14 + 5 + 6 in the first quarter (36-23) and led the surge in defense in the third quarter, when Cleveland had taken the lead.

In the final set, he closed out the victory with a sequence in which he scored a fadeaway, blocked Caris LeVert and hit a completely final triple.

The first 40+10+10 for a sixer since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968. Still without James Harden, but accompanied by the tremendous defensive work of Matisse Thybulle, with 6 steals and excellent work on Darius Garland who scored (27) more when he stayed with Tyrese Maxey but did not find his companions.

Without the possibility of Garland generating play, Allen and Evan Mobley seemed like ordinary players and LeVert had to force a lot -16 shots and 11 points- although he and Cedi Osman led the reaction after a poor first quarter.

It is 36-22 for the Cleveland Cavaliers and 34-22 for the Philadelphia 76ers who have a different player and who will be a terror in the Playoffs unless James Harden is reunited with at least a high percentage of himself.

Joel Embiid has stood out too much. He is the squire of a mountain, a player in a trance who could perfectly do an MVP-Defender of the Year double. Exceptional, too much even for the good team that the Cavs are.
