PCB is in bad condition due to Needless experimentation – Ex Pakistan Cricketer

Is experimentation a good thing in Cricket? Sometimes it can bring about changes that build and enhance the entire game from the grass root upwards and at times it can destroy even the little good that is there. The point in question is the experimentations in Pakistan Cricket by the PCB as per Mr. Kamran Akmal.

Pakistan may be having success at the international level but veteran cricketer Mr. Akmal has expressed dissatisfaction and dismay at the end of Department Cricket as it has stopped the coming up of new talents due to abolishing county cricket.

While speaking with the Samaa TV news channel, Kamran Akmal expressed his concerns over the bad shape Pakistan cricket board is going through and is involved in to a lot of experimentation. Look at what he said,

“Unfortunately, the Pakistan cricket system is in a bad shape due to unnecessary experimentation by the Pakistan Cricket Board and former Prime Minister [Imran Khan]. This damaged Pakistan crickets a lot,”

Mr. Akmal also blamed this on the Pakistan Cricket Board and Mr. Imran Khan the former Prime Minister.

The team that Pakistan had a decade ago no longer exists. It is vital to have a continuity of new talents to identify, nurture and build future successful teams. This can happen only by enhancing the country’s current national cricket structure.

“Pakistan doesn’t have the team it used to have eight to ten years ago. We used to have five to six match-winners back in the day,”

Kamran Akmal said,

“There is not a single genuine off-spinner in the eighteen-member test squad of Pakistan for the Sri Lanka tour. Sajid Khan has been replaced by a part-time off-spinner but this is not the approach to win test matches.”

So, do we EXPERIMENT or do we need to cancel such experiments?

Whilst we can hope and pray for the Pakistan Cricket Board to review their strategies to build budding cricketers who will bring back the glory days. Akmal said,

“It is too soon. Babar Azam is young and has only been in charge of Pakistan for about a year,”

The Pakistan team will be in Sri Lanka to play their next two Test matches in July, followed by a 3-day ODI against the Netherlands and then travel to the land Down under for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Let’s see how they fare under Mr. Azam’s leadership.
