  • Chasing the 210-run target, the KKR team lost the match and the tournament by 2 runs
  • KL Rahul reveals Mohsin to be playing for India soon

In the nail-biting innings between the Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders, the skipper Shreyas Iyer says it was one of the best matches he played and have been part off. Somehow by the sweating efforts of Rinku Singh, the match eventually was brought down to 5 off 3 balls but the Stonis attack could let the player do so and was caught at the on-field player, Evin Lewis.

Brendon McCullum impressed by the innings so far played by 24-year-old, Rinku Singh, has led the England team’s new coach to say that Rinku’s innings by KKR will be remembered in the future as well. Rinku, in his game against the LSG’s almost brought victory for the KKR’s.

“Absolutely he (Rinku) sure has (been the find of the season). Rinku is a player who KKR will invest in, no doubt, over the next few years and we will see him really progress and may even challenge for higher honours in time,”

Speaking about the defeat, Shreyas said,

“I am not feeling sad at all. That was one of the best games of cricket I have played. The way we should our character and attitude was simply outstanding,”

“I love the way Rinku got us till the end but unfortunately couldn’t time it when two balls were remaining, he was really sad. I was hoping he could finish the game for us and could have been the hero, but still played a fantastic knock and I am really happy for him.”

Shreyas added, that for them it was a do or die situation and after losing two wickets their motive was to put the opponent team into pressure. Iyer said that despite the season being great for them in the beginning tend to become volatile after sometime due to lots of chopping and changing.

But the skipper added the spirit of the team to be always positive especially due to Baz (McCullum) who always remined to be positive and calm and had aura to never judge anybody and take everyone as equal.

Talking to KL Rahul on his victory and entering into playoffs, he said,

“I should probably get paid more for games like these. Could easily have been on the losing side and have gone back home thinking we lost due to some poor cricket. Good way to finish the last game of the league season. Credit to both teams to make such a brilliant game of cricket.

“Can’t say we held our nerves better because it was a matter of three runs. For Stoinis to execute those plans in the last two balls to get us the win, was brilliant,”

He said Quinny (Quinton De Kock) was extremely superb with an unbeaten 140. Although, KL Rahul being they’re on the field with De Kock in the last a few overs acted as spectator to De Kock playing crispy and clean shots, KL Rahul Said. Whereas, speaking highly of Mohsin Khan, Iyer said,

“Mohsin has been outstanding for us in the last few games. He’s got the skills but the key thing has been his knowledge of when to use those skills.

“He’ll be donning the Blue jersey soon the way he is going. India is always looking for left-arm pacers and he is right there,”

We wish both team the best of lucks!!
