The best offense in 2022 swept past Golden State Warriors with a great performance by Towns. Minnesota Timberwolves is still in the West play-in, but defended well against Curry and took a key duel in the standings.

Minnesota Timberwolves seems to have found their groove and became the best offensive team so far in 2022 with a 129-114 win over Golden State Warriors.

Beating one of the most solid outfits in the Western Conference this season in a back-to-back sweep. They want blood and the blood they have is young and fluid.

Chris Finch’s side beat Steve Kerr’s in Minneapolis by a 15-point lead that was made up because the reality is that there was a late cut in a night in which they dominated an opponent that anyone, including them, wants to be like.

San Francisco’s team has been in the doldrums in recent weeks, including the All-Star Game break, even though Stephen Curry completed one of his all-too-frequent marinades at the event.

It is only two wins in the last eight games and the schedule has been steep, it is true, but the forcefulness with which they won at the beginning of the season has abandoned them in this stretch.

Against the Wolves, they were without Nemanja Bjelica and Klay Thompson, while waiting for both Draymond Green and James Wiseman, both in the final stages of their recoveries, but the slump is noticeable.

For Minnesota, this is a credit to roster building, always important in the summers, and that the idea has sunk in. They are the team Towns has wanted them to be for more than five years.

They will still be in the play-in zone, but only two wins behind the Nuggets, with whom they share a division, but it will be difficult to catch them.

Karl-Anthony Towns was the star of the winning team with 39 points and 9 rebounds, although it is true that the key advantage that gave them the victory came from the bench: his friend D’Angelo Russell, with 22 points and 7 assists, was a perfect complement.

The locals kept the tone all night long. They were ahead from the start and delivered the blow, to the surprise of some, with the lesser regulars.

The Wolves kept the block on defense, forcing Curry into some bad shooting and his teammates to run plays in disadvantageous positions as well.

They went from being within 10 to 20 and there was little else left to do. On offense, a rage play by Taurean Prince after a technical, five straight points by Russell, a counter dunk by Naz Reid, and the triple that ended that brilliant stretch, signed by Malik Beasley (20+4+2), shot Minnesota Timberwolves towards the victory in this day.
