NBA – Warriors fall to Celtics, but more worry about Curry | Playon99 News

Boston Celtics beat Golden State Warriors in San Francisco, but more than the loss, the injury that forced Curry not to continue on the court was more worrisome. It is already confirmed that the point guard suffered a sprain and will be just in time for the NBA Playoffs.

No respite for Golden State Warriors: one game after Draymond Green made his triumphant return to the court and the trio that has dominated the NBA for five years was at full strength, the alarm bells went off for Stephen Curry.

In the Warriors’ 110-88 loss to the Boston Celtics in San Francisco, Curry was only able to spend 14 minutes on the court due to an injury that prevented him from returning to finish the game.

In a ball dispute with Marcus Smart in which the Celtics point guard slid down the court and hit the Warriors point guard’s leg, Curry was left ostensibly limping while returning to defend and had to stop.

Smart was flagrantly fouled on the same play for swinging his leg out and hitting Klay Thompson’s head on a counter-attacking action and Golden State Warriors are on fire against their Boston Celtics counterparts.

Curry was unable to move his left foot easily and after post-game medical tests, it was determined that it was not a fracture, nor does it carry significant damage and was just a sprain that will sideline him until mid-April.

Boston Celtics took advantage of the moment and the circumstances to recover their rhythm and win a tough game against one of the title contenders.

The first quarter went to the visitors by 23-17 and Boston Celtics stretched their lead in the second quarter with a score of 48-32.

Golden State Warriors looked for a reaction in the third quarter with a partial that left the score at 79-69, but in the last quarter they lost ground and without their star player they surrendered a 12-point lead.

Jordan Poole was the top scorer on the court with 29 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists, followed closely by all Boston Celtics players: Jayson Tatum (26+12+4), Jaylen Brown (26+7+3) and Smart (20+4+8).

Thompson came up short with his 18 points and 3 rebounds in 33 minutes of play for a Warriors that fell apart with the injury to their brightest star.

A night that had already started with obvious problems to score, Curry included, went on forever and ended up defining that they didn’t get one in.

The defense displayed by Boston was an enormously heavy yoke for Golden State’s shooters, who were left with an unsustainable 22% success rate in three-pointers.

Outside shots were the easiest resource because the Celtics were dominating inside, not allowing them second chances with rebounds after those misses, and this avenue was also clogged for almost the entire NBA day.
