San Antonio Spurs can say they fell to the best: Karl-Anthony Towns had the best scoring record in the NBA season and gave Minnesota Timberwolves the win in a back-and-forth game. Franchises should save this matchup for how to score Towns in the Playoffs.

Karl-Anthony Towns signed the highest scoring output of the current NBA regular season with 60 points to lead Minnesota Timberwolves to a big win over San Antonio Spurs 149-139.

After Trae Young -93 points in 48 hours- and Stephen Curry -47 points on his 34th birthday- left a tremendous day in points, Towns did not want to be left behind and recorded a double-double that will go down in history with 60 points and 17 rebounds.

Between the three players, they scored 153 points in the first night since December 13, 1983 in which three players scored more than 45 points in a single game. Then Kiki Vandeweghe, Alex English and Isiah Thomas did it and this time the record has fallen on three players who have made three-pointers their way of life.

The best individual performance of a Dominican player in the NBA and the record of being the first center to score 60 points in a game since Shaquille O’Neal in 2000.

Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off an incredible game against a franchise that left nothing off the court: San Antonio had the top four scorers behind Towns with 107 points between them.

Keldon Johnson (34+8+4), Dejounte Murray (30+4+12), Lonnie Walker (22+3+2), and Jakob Poltl (21+4+1), had an incredible day for San Antonio Spurs, but could not beat a team that had the best scorer of the season in the NBA.

Karl-Anthony Towns had, in addition to his great scoring, a 19 of 31 shooting from the field and 7 of 11 in three-pointers, where he has the ability to be named as the best high shooter in long shots and where he has won the contest in the NBA All-Star Game.

The encounter between San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves was a demonstration of constant attacks, but the big difference was made precisely by Towns with 32 points in the third quarter, being the fourth best mark in a partial in the last 25 years.

With Towns at the helm, the Wolves know that it is possible and that the times of mud and sludge may already be history in a team not given to conjugate the verb to win.
