NBA – Suns win and become the best team in the NBA | Playon99 News

Phoenix Suns had a tremendous duel with Denver Nuggets and took the biggest prize: having the best record in the NBA and getting the home court in all the Playoffs. Paul returned to play after his injury, but the star was Booker.

A monumental Devin Booker, with a double-double of 49 points and 10 assists, gave the Phoenix Suns a 140-130 win over the visiting Denver Nuggets and sealed mathematical qualification to the NBA Playoffs as leaders of the Western Conference.

Booker led the Phoenix Suns on a team that returned Chris Paul – who returned with 17 points and 13 assists – after more than a month out with a broken finger on one hand.

The Suns dominate the Western Conference with a nine-game lead over the Memphis Grizzlies and, with eight games remaining in the regular season, finished as the NBA’s best regular season team and secured their place in all Playoff games.

Phoenix confirmed its power with a victory in one of the NBA’s toughest arenas and fueled its title bid after being denied by the Milwaukee Bucks in last year’s Finals.

In addition to Booker and Paul, Mikal Bridges contributed 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting and 3 three-pointers.

Denver Nuggets were held scoreless by Nikola Jokic’s 28 points on 9-of-10 shooting with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.

The duel between Phoenix and Denver started very evenly with a 31-31 first quarter, but Booker narrowly tipped the scales for the Suns to finish two points ahead in the second quarter (37-35).

The Phoenix Suns point guard had an 8-of-11 shooting first half with 2 three-pointers and 6-of-8 free throws, to which he added 1 rebound and 3 assists to help the Suns stay balanced against a reigning Nuggets.

Bones Hyland shined with 19 points, supported by Will Barton’s 10 and Nikola Jokic’s 9, and the balance held up at halftime, with the Nuggets holding a two-point lead.

Denver Nuggets came out of the break better and touched a nine-point lead at 101-92, but Booker continued to dominate on both ends of the court and sealed the tie at 104-104 with his 19 points scored in the third quarter. A game for the ages.

Booker did it in emphatic fashion in shooting, but also with some big defensive plays, most notably a steal from Jokic to close transition with a dunk.

The Phoenix Suns No. 1 lit up the game and launched a 14-4 run in the last period that sentenced Denver Nuggets (122-114), who kept losing avoidable balls in their possessions and protesting a lot to the referees asking for fouls.

The Nuggets’ reaction was led by Jokic, who was still perfect in his shots and also converted the only triple of the night, but it was too late to contain the Suns who can now live the last days of competition as a preparation for the battle of the NBA Playoffs.
