Brooklyn Nets beat Milwaukee Bucks in a game with Playoff’s aroma. Irving in GOAT mode was able to beat the last champions led by double-doubles from Giannis and Portis.

Kyrie Irving had his best game of the season on Saturday as the Brooklyn Nets downed the Milwaukee Bucks 126-123 on the road in a thrilling, playoff-scented matchup.

Regardless of his controversial decision not to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, Irving proved that he is still one of the best point guards in the NBA and shined against the defending champions with 38 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and a fabulous calmness in free throws -8 of 9- to give the Nets the victory.

Giannis Antetokounmpo signed 29 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists, but missed a three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime.

Without Kevin Durant due to injury, nor Ben Simmons who has not yet made his debut, the New Yorkers shined in the third quarter (43-34) and relied on recent signings Andre Drummond -17 points with 7 of 9 shooting, 12 rebounds and 5 assists- and Seth Curry (19 points).

Before visiting Milwaukee, the Nets had accumulated 13 losses in their last 15 games and earned a much-needed victory to escape the ghosts and secure their place in the Playin zone.

For their part, the Bucks were deflated down the stretch, struggled from the line (25 of 38) and lost 14 turnovers (7 by the Nets).

Along with Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis shone with his own light, extraordinary with 8 three-pointers for a total of 30 points and 12 rebounds, who was the protagonist from the beginning and was accompanied by Khris Middleton (25 points) and Jrue Holiday (19).

Kyrie Irving, very sharp and resourceful in every attack, held Brooklyn Nets, where Goran Dragic debuted with 6 points and 3 rebounds.

After a first half with the Bucks holding a slight lead, the Nets came back from the break with a 12-0 run and came from behind to define the game.

When Milwaukee recovered thanks to Portis and Giannis, it looked like they would take the game, but Brooklyn found answers in the magic of Irving to turn the score around.

In those moments of nerves and cold sweats, Brown scored a three-pointer from the corner (116-118 with 1:39 to go) that the Nets later propped up with two fantastic blocks by Drummond and Johnson on Antetokounmpo and Portis, respectively.

Finally, the game turned into an endless free throw thriller and there the Bucks’ hand shrunk while Irving stuck out his chest to take the victory to Brooklyn. A dual worthy of defining instances that could happen in the future and, for now, leans towards Brooklyn Nets and their new stars.
