Brooklyn Nets beat New York Knicks with an incredible performance by Kevin Durant: he scored more than 50 points and continues to give life to his team. The fans fired him to the chant that he will be MVP of the NBA regular season.

With a superlative Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets destroyed New York Knicks and gave the black-and-white team a valuable and hard-earned 110-107 victory in the New York derby, with the second-best performance of his NBA career.
Durant’s 53 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists in 43 minutes of play proved that the player not only returned in incredible form from injury but that he is pivotal to the Brooklyn Nets NBA ring aspirations.

Without Australia’s Ben Simmons, who remains sidelined with personal issues, and with Kyrie Irving sitting in the stands as a fan, unable to compete in New York due to the current health mandate, Durant led the Nets with tremendous personal performance and came within one point of his record (54 scored in 2014) with Oklahoma City Thunder against Golden State Warriors.
Irving’s absence was one of the night’s controversies: he was in the stands without a chinstrap, but they won’t let him on the court. A move is worthy of comedy on the part of the NYG.
Brooklyn’s Kyrie Irving is expected to sit courtside to support teammates at Nets-Knicks on Sunday afternoon at Barclays Center.
Irving is able to attend the game as a spectator, move freely, maskless … but cannot play due to private sector mandate.

In just under 43 minutes on the court, Durant was 19-of-37 shooting, 4 three-pointers, and 11-of-12 on free throws.
He surpassed 50 points for the eighth time in his career, the second time in his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets, whose fans sent him off at Barclays Center calling for his selection as NBA MVP.

With his astonishing performance, he managed to surpass fifty points twice with three different teams: Oklahoma City, Golden State, and Brooklyn.
He reached 27 points at halftime, a season-high, and was sporting 40 after three periods, something he accomplished four times in his career.
His play allowed the Brooklyn Nets to overcome a New York Knicks that competed valiantly, buoyed by Julius Randle’s 26 points, Evan Fournier’s 25, and RJ Barrett’s 24.

Andre Drummond (18+10), Bruce Brown (15+7+5) and Nicolas Claxton (10+5+1) joined Durant on the game’s top scorers list for Brooklyn Nets.
Brooklyn Nets got a victory that left them calmly in eighth place in the Eastern Conference (35-33) against a direct and spicy rival like New York Knicks, who see how the possibility of entering the Play-In almost completely vanishes with a lousy record of 28-40.
