Vogel took a gamble and questioned whether LeBron James should be the NBA regular season MVP. Los Angeles Lakers player leads the statistics with 37 years and continues to break records, but a bad season of his team can take him away from the throne.

The battle for the MVP of this NBA regular season could be close, but for Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel, it is already decided: it should go to LeBron James.
Vogel spoke after the Lakers practice and highlighted all the accomplishments LeBron has had this regular season that could earn him his fifth NBA MVP:
“He’s as deserving of MVP consideration as anyone in the NBA. I know how the voting goes: the team with the best record or the best pair of records usually gets the majority of those considerations, so the win-loss record would definitely hurt him, but you can’t tell me that anyone has played a better season than LeBron James this year”

It might sound far-fetched and not at all objective, but LeBron has the numbers to back up his coach’s request: he leads the NBA in scoring, averaging 30 points per game on 52.3 percent shooting along with 8.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists.
What is a fact is that Los Angeles Lakers situation is not the best in the NBA regular season.

The Lakers are 10th in the Western Conference, after losing to the New Orleans Pelicans and with the San Antonio Spurs close breathing room just a game and a half behind that could even leave them out of the NBA Play-Ins.
Anyway, LeBron James continues to do his best: in this last game against the Pelicans, he was the top scorer with 39 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

LeBron pulls the cart alone on a team that does absolutely nothing right and at 37 years old is still at the top level of the NBA, above in the stats of players like Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant.
A bad regular season may leave LeBron out of the NBA’s most important definition, but James is still the king.
