Miami Heat bounced back against Boston Celtics with a win that serves to renew their strength for the NBA Playoffs. After Spoelstra and Butler’s live brawl, the East leaders returned to tranquility.

Not long ago it seemed impossible to imagine that Miami Heat would be at this point having to earn the Eastern Conference lead because they have been by far the most consistent team on their side in the NBA.

A mini-crisis in play and, more worryingly, in locker room unity caused them to lose four straight games last week for the first time all season and now they are being harassed by the big three of the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics.

Miami Heat was supposed to visit Boston Celtics and a loss would have left them tied with them and also with the Milwaukee team, but in a very important game, it was the Heat who were up to the task.

Led by Jimmy Butler (24+3+2), the same player who a few days ago had a tremendous confrontation with his coach, Eric Spoelstra, during a timeout, and by Kyle Lowry (23 points), Miami Heat pulled out a victory in Boston in a game that seemed more like a Playoffs game than an NBA regular-season game.

Intensity, nerves, constant lead changes. There were 16 and 9 ties on the scoreboard throughout the game. A game that was resolved in the last moments, with Boston Celtics pressing to take a victory that escaped them in a very bad last quarter for the locals (15-27).

Even so, the Celtics were able to take the victory getting within four (98-102) with 1:40 to go, but from there Boston had two unlucky plays that would take away all the chances of victory.

First an offensive foul called on Jayson Tatum (23+5+6), in which coach Ime Udoka asked for a review, but with no luck, and then another attack in which they lost the ball.

Out of frustration, Marcus Smart (10+5+8) protested by raising his arms and was given a technical, which, in addition to expelling him, allowed the Miami Heat to win the game from the free throw line.

On the other hand, Boston Celtics had a great performance by Jaylen Brown as top scorer with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, while Miami Heat had two players with double-doubles: Bam Adebayo (17+12+8) and Tyler Herro (12+10+5).
