Morant signed the best scoring mark in Memphis Grizzlies history and they rebounded against the mighty Chicago Bulls. DeRozan could not extend his record, the red franchise cut a great winning streak and lost the first place in the East.

The NBA sensation returned: Ja Morant with 46 points, Memphis Grizzlies’ all-time regular season high, gave his team a 116-110 victory over Chicago Bulls.

Morant’s scoring frenzy cut the Bulls’ six-game winning streak short and defeated them on the road at the United Center, ending DeMar DeRozan’s streak of eight consecutive games with at least 35 points and 50 percent shooting.

Morant, who came to Chicago averaging 26.7 points per game, led the Grizzlies offensively and finished a sparkling 3-of-4 on three-pointers and 15-of-28 shooting. As if that wasn’t enough, he signed a 360 that will stick with fans.

The number 12 of the Grizzlies completely took the reins of his team, in which the second-best scorers were Stephen Adams and Desmond Bane, both with twelve points. An abysmal difference.

In the final scoring table, the Bulls scored with DeRozan (31+7+3), Zach LaVine (28+4+6) and Coby White (15+4+5). All behind Morant and ahead of the rest of their opponents.

Memphis built up a 17-point lead, but Chicago, with tremendous commitment, managed to cut that margin to just one point in the final quarter.

The usual duo pushed the Bulls with DeRozan’s 31 points and Zack LaVine’s 28. Both lethal, but against a rising star like Morant.

DeRozan, despite posting a 30-plus point performance, was ejected for his second technical foul of the night with 5 seconds left.

The forward finished with 10 of 29 shooting, a much lower percentage than usual for him in recent weeks where he broke any record of the franchise that has Michael Jordan under its wing.

Memphis Grizzlies rebounded after two consecutive losses to Minnesota Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazzers and is comfortably third in the Western Conference with a 42-20 record.

Chicago Bulls fell after six consecutive wins and lost first place in the Eastern Conference (39-22) to the Miami Heats.
