NBA – Giannis gives the Bucks the win with an MVP-worthy stopper | Playon99 News

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s block at the buzzer gave the Milwaukee Bucks the win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The owner of the NBA MVP throne continues to make his case for another championship ring.

Milwaukee Bucks brought out the champion gene again and it was in a big way. Like that stopper against Phoenix Suns that set the trend that ended in an NBA ring, Giannis Antetokounmpo led his team by putting a lock on the rim.

A cover by the Greek of Nigerian origin on Joel Embiid, another MVP candidate, left the Philadelphia 76ers shivering. This confirmed Milwaukee’s victory at home and against one of the big favorites for the title once they acquired the services of James Harden.

The aforementioned three and Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Tobias Harris, the main players, were good. It was a big game. These two names, Sixers and Bucks, are to be noted, maybe back in May, we will see them face each other for the Eastern Conference throne.

The final score was 118-116 in an evening decided at the end, with Giannis’ play on Embiid and Milwaukee Bucks being superior at the decisive stretch.

Perhaps it is that final step is what the Philadelphia 76ers are missing, a squad to win, but one that has yet to prove it can beat the other title contenders in its part of the bracket.

Milwaukee Bucks regained the confidence they had lost as visitors, minimally, in the good streak they have plunged into. Of their last 14 games they have only lost 3 and all 3 have been on the road: Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies.

Very interesting night to see the proposals of these two teams. The matchup between Embiid (29+14+7) and Brook Lopez (17+3) in which the Sixers tried to hurt the opponent by probing from outside to inside and the Bucks opted to generate from the low post.

Milwaukee maintained some control during the first half with this strategy. The final quarter saw a drastic turnaround, with Holiday (18+8+10) bringing out his best ideas for both scoring and passing and the Bucks took advantage.

Antetokounmpo (40+14+6) also came up big in the final minutes with dunks over opponents or mid-range shots. A player who has a color palette deserving, once again, of the NBA MVP.

On the other side it had to be three-pointers: Harden, Embiid and even Georges Niang scored to close the gap and the last two Philadelphia 76ers were down on the scoreboard and Embiid could not come back.

The first was a 20-footer from the right side of the court that was well tipped in and the second was an offensive rebound after Harden’s miss that resulted in him taking the ball out to the basket and Antetokounmpo’s very quick touch against the backboard and then outside the zone to end the Sixers’ intentions with that stopper.
