It had been quite a long that Virat Kohli is out of form. Team India’s former head coach Ravi Shastri expects Virat will be back in form and will show his master class in the upcoming Asia Cup starting on 27 August in UAE. Virat will be playing his 100th T20 International match when he will step into the ground against arch-rivals Pakistan on 28 August. Team India had lost to Pakistan in its last encounter in T20 World Cup 2021 and Virat Kohli was captaining India then.
In cricket, it’s said that form is temporary but class is permanent, every player goes through a rough patch in his career the way you handle failures, fight, and comes out of tough situations proves your class.
According to Ravi Shastri, Virat is one of the fittest players of the current era, his dedication to his game and hunger to perform make him a very special player. Virat had taken a break in some recent series during this period he must have focused on his weakness and prepared his game plan for the upcoming Asia Cup added Ravi.
In April Ravi had already advised Virat to take a break from his busy cricketing assignment and even to skip IPL if possible. Ravi knows Virat’s game gets even better in a pressure situation and his past performance supports the cause if Virat delivers in the match against Pakistan he forgets about his bad patch.
Ravi while comparing Virat with other greats like Kane Williamson, Joe Root, and David Warner reveals that Virat had played almost 3 to 4 times matches compared to them in the last few years, still, his stamina is commendable he like running the machine, and just need one good inning under his belt to get back to form. This will ultimately shut the mouth of all critics.
