Juventus 1-1 Torino – Serie A Highlights – Playon99 News

Juve fails to get off to a flying start in the 2021/22 season and dropped points on the road during the Turin derby. De Ligt and Belotti scored the goals in a match that ended with Torino smiling – Playon99 News

The team coached by Massimiliano Allegri has once again dropped points along the way in a Serie A in which it cannot find the way towards comfortably securing a position of access to the next Champions League.

In the Turin derby, a match that the Vecchia Signora have a historical obligation to win, Juventus never found the way to discomfort Torino and ended up dropping two points that could see them see how Atalanta can match them in fourth place, if they beat Fiorentina on Sunday, and be even with a game in hand.

Juve’s goal came from Matthijs de Ligt: after 13 minutes, the Dutch center-back headed in a corner kick taken by Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.

De Ligt was able to power in at the far post and was able to fire the ball past a helpless Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

The home side scored a goal and automatically went down. Injuries were playing a trick on them and there were whispers of Dusan Vlahovic’s absence with the ball.

In the second half, Josip Brekalo’s left-wing run ended in a cross that was finished off by Andrea Belotti for the equalizer.

El Gallo Belotti sang and added his third goal in the current Serie A, his first since October, after a series of injuries that led to his worst record as a professional.

Allegri and Juventus not only dropped two points at home to their arch-rivals but also suffered two injuries of concern for the future.

Luca Pellegrini went off injured for the break and is awaiting further progress to see if he will make it to the Champions League match against Villarreal.

Another player who could be a doubt for the clash against the Yellow Submarine is Paulo Dybala: the Argentine player had to leave with muscular problems that could leave him out of the first leg of the round of 16 against the Spanish team.

Vlahovic became one of the big signings of the past winter transfer window as one of Serie A’s top scorers.

The 21-year-old Serbian striker left Fiorentina for Juventus in exchange for €75 million and scored in Turin during his debut, but the last three games, with Juve winning only one of the last four matches of the tournament, he was missing.

The attacker’s arrival to the Turin team aroused high expectations, but against Torino, he was substituted for the first time since his transfer.

Juventus coach Allegri explained to Dazn the reasons for taking Vlahovic off the pitch:

“It cost him a little bit. He was a bit cloudy, but it’s normal. He’s not used to playing 2 or 3 games a week. It’s normal that he has to learn a lot”.
