Jhulan Goswami set to play her farewell match at lords.



Jhulan Goswami one of the most talented leading batswomen in the Indian Cricket Team will be playing her last match at lords.

The All-India Women’s Selection Committee picked the squads for India’s upcoming tour of England starting from 10th September including veteran medium pacer Jhulan Goswami. Jhulan who had represented India for almost 2 decades had an emphatic record in all 3 formats of the game. She is the leading wicket-taker for India with 350 plus dismissals.

Recently there had been speculations about her international career she played last for team India in March 2022 against Bangladesh and also wasn’t included in the Commonwealth games squad and Srilankan tour. Honoring her contribution to Indian cricket, the board decided to give her a farewell game. The third One-Day International against England at Lord’s

‘will be her last appearance in national color’.

In her cricketing career spanning over 20 years, she had reached many feet. In 2007 she was ICC women’s player of the year, and from 2008 to 2011 she was captain of the Indian women’s cricket team also in January 2016 she was ranked first in the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings…

She is a handy baste too with an average of 24.25 in Test format with 2 fifties to her name. In February 2018 she became the first bowler to claim 200 ODI wickets and in March 2022 she became the first bowler to claim 250 wickets in Women’s ODI. An Indian postage stamp was issued in her honor. If there had been ‘A Hall of Fame for women’s cricket in India Jhulan Goswami would have been certainly at top of the table.

All the Indians are lucky to watch her game and she will be always considered as an inspiration to many young upcoming generation women players.
