Ja Morant and Memphis Grizzlies are a killing machine – NBA

Morant had another brilliant performance with a triple-double and led the Memphis Grizzlies to a 119-109 victory over the Utah Jazz. The Grizzlies took third place in the Western Conference and are getting stronger for the Playoffs.

How do you celebrate being an All-Star for the first time and being a starter on top of that? So, neither more nor less: 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the fourth triple-double in Ja Morant’s career.

The Memphis Grizzlies point guard is headed in the ultimate direction of stardom in this third season in which there is no news of Zion Williamson, the player chosen ahead of him in the 2019 draft.

Memphis beat Utah with an exemplary display by Ja Morant 119-109 and increasingly scares a rival that has now gone from being the third in discord in the Western Conference to being fourth and to be aware of what will happen with the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.

The Jazz have gone six games without Donovan Mitchell and three without Rudy Gobert and have lost four games in a row and ten of the last twelve, something unusual in the Quin Snyder era.

The Memphis Grizzlies, the sensation of the West, settled on the podium of the Conference with a brilliant victory, but that needed work in the fourth quarter against an opponent that worked despite not having enough talent on the court.

On a bad day with Bogdanovic shooting -5 of 16 for 13 points- and Clarkson, 4 of 13 for 13 points, things are not going well in Utah.

Danuel House -21 points- worked hard as the leading scorer to earn a full-time contract, Mike Conley finished with 15 and 6 assists and the Jazz continue to run into trouble with another tough game in the offing: tomorrow they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Grizzlies are recovering troops, although they are still without important pieces like Dillon Brooks and Tyus Jones, but, in addition to the huge Ja Morant, they have Desmond Bane, 17 points, Brandon Clarke, 22 and all the dirty work, Melton (13 + 9 + 6) and a Jaren Jackson Jr who continues to shine as an intimidator: 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 blocks.

That the Grizzlies are a reality is something that has been obvious for weeks, but also, increasingly, that right now they are a superior team to these opaque Utah Jazz and have their deserved third place in the Western Conference.
