Islamabad United and two other teams announce partial replacements, PSL 2022 – Playon99 News

With occupying two spots on the point table the champions Islamabad United and Sultans have begin their 2022 campaign with a triumph. The Peshawar Zalmi’s were brutally defeated by Islamabad United with a nine-wicket win over on Sunday after the. The sultans were seen beginning with a win over Karachi Kings which was an opening match that took place on Thursday.

Even though both the teams have added points earlier this season, they find themselves in trouble and the reason behind this is the unavailability of their key players leaving both the teams with no option but to announce partial replacements. While Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators are only to make a temporary replacement, the title-holders have fixed themselves as they need to find three substitutes.

Teams are looking to make some substitutions:

According to a Cricket Pakistan report, Quetta Gladiators have announced a partial replacement for veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi due to COVID-19. Hasan Khan has partially replaced the former Pakistan captain. Meanwhile, Islamabad United, on the other hand, have temporarily dropped left-arm medium pacer Waqas Maqsood in place of English pacer Reece Topley. Topple had withdrawn from the PSL 2022 to be part of the England T20I squad which is currently playing a five-match series in the West Indies.

Multan Sultans, on the other hand, have sought a temporary replacement for their overseas trio of Dominic Drakes, Roman Powell, Odion Smith, as they have to be part of the West Indies squad for the upcoming limited-over’s series against India starting February 6. Since three of their overseas players had to leave the team due to national duty, the defending champions have immediately requested replacement options. Johnson Charles, selected as a partial replacement, will now be part of the entire PSL for the Sultans.

The Sultans will be hoping to solve the riddle as soon as they lock horns with the Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday to record back-to-back wins as well as find a way to top the table want. Sultans have been the top team in the Pakistan Super League so far as they have managed to win both the matches they have played so far. Led by a pint-sized wicketkeeper-batsman with a dynamite game, the team thrashed both Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars in their opening games.

Where can you watch these matches?

Out of the eight matches between the two teams in PS, the Gladiators won four games while the Sultans had to be happy with only three. A match between the Gladiators and the Sultans was called off. The next match is going to be crucial for both the teams and the majority will depend on the toss as to who will win.
