IPL2022:Gujarat Titans vs Punjab Kings: Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada Help PBKS to Big Win Over GT

The Punjab Kings registered yet another victory at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday. It was an interesting match between the two where one was playing to see themselves in the final while the other (PBKS) was looking to make sure they were going to be part of the playoffs. Which they also did confirmed in the last.

After winning the toss “Gujarat Titans” decided to bat, which was rare to see but when they came, they came with their two openers “WriddhimanSaha” and “Shubman Gill”.

The start for the GT team wasn’t at all good. They kept losing wickets and none could stand the bowling attack from Rabada and co. Kagiso Rabada was the most successful bowler of the match and who took 4 wickets for his team.

There was none expect “one” in the GT team this time who managed to glue his feet on the pitch and create some good target for the team but the one that we are talking about here was B Sai Sudarshan. He stood as a warrior for his team at the crease and scored an unbeaten 65* off 50 balls to help his team set a target of 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. The GT heroes who flopped in this match were Hardik Pandya, WriddhimanSaha, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, David Miller to name a few.

Like the batting side, the bowling side also looked weak for the Gujarat Titans team. The team managed to take only 2 wickets from the Punjab Kings team but could make an impact on them as such.

Now it was time for Punjab Kings to showcase their side and provide yet another victory. As an opener, he sent two of his openers in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow to spell.

Unlike the GT, the PBKS turned out to be more solid and the strong heads started to explode from the start but ensured that their wickets were on the less fragile side. Shikhar Dhawan was the most successful batsman of the match and scored an unbeaten 63 off 53 balls, while the second and third most successful batsmen of the team were Bhanuka and Liam Livingstone who scored 40 and 30* off 28 and 10 balls respectively.

Punjab Kings were so good this time that they didn’t even win the match, but won it in such a way that they finished 5th straight in qualifying for the playoffs.

The highlights of this match were the massive 117 meters Six smashed by Liam Livingstone and Kagsio’s 4 wicket innings.
