The wait for the Lucknow team is over. The new name unveiled by the new IPL franchise bought by RP Sanjeev Goenka Group is “Lucknow Super Giants”. The business group bought the team for Rs 7090 crore.

This is not the first time for businessman RP Sanjeev Goenka. In 2016 and 2017, the diversified business group acquired the franchise in Pune and renamed it Rising Pune Supergiant. The name was suggested by Goenka on the basis of a crowd-funding campaign. Registration for Indian Premier League has been done. As for the mega auction, IPL 2022 will see the new franchises, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, the mega auction will take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. Altogether 10 teams will bid in the hope of the best in the two-day mega auction. In terms of international performance, the list of players to be included as capped players is 270, while 903 are uncapped, and 41 players from associate countries, breaking it to 209 capped, international cricketers, 61 capped, Indian players and 143 .
KL Rahul has been picked up for 150 million by the Lucknow franchise team. Stoinis for 110 million and Bishnoi (Ravi Bisnoi) for Rs 40 million. While Hardik Pandya will be leading the team Ahmedabad franchise CVC Capital having Ashish Nehra & Gary Kirsten.
The mind-blowing IPL 2022 series is going to start from March 27 this year. Officials are keen to host the tournament in India, although this may change depending on the COVID-19 pandemic.
