India will take on South Africa in 3 matches ODI series from 6th to 11th October after the completion of the T20 series.
A stylish right-handed batter and wicketkeeper from Kerala Sanju Samson are likely to be part of the Indian ODI squad for the South African ODI series. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly revealed that Sanju Samson is very much in the team’s plan for the future.
Sanju Samson had scored consistently in almost all IPL seasons. In the last two IPL seasons, he had 450 plus runs to his name. Rajasthan Royals reached to finals of IPL 2022 under his captaincy.
His omission from the upcoming T20 International World Cup team was criticized by many netizens on social media. He had played 7 ODI for team India and scored 176 runs at an average of 44.00.
Recently India A team has a comprehensive win over Newzealand A team in the unofficial ODI series. Sanju Samson captained India A to register a whitewash against Kiwi.
The BCCI selection committee is yet to announce the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa officially but Sourav Ganguly dropped a big hint about Sanju Samson’s inclusion in this team. The players who missed tickets to Australia for T20 World Cup are likely to be included in the squad for the South African ODI series.
In a meeting with reports, Sourav said ” there is a lot of young talent in Kerala and many players to watch out for.”
Sanju Samson is playing well and had captained his IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals brilliantly. I think he is playing One Day International against South Africa also” added Ganguly.
