Indian women’s cricket team skipper is going to miss out on the eighth edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).

Harmanpreet Kaur is the first ever Indian player, male or female, to sign a prestigious Australian Big Bash league contract. In 2016 she makes her WBBL debut when she played for Sydney Thunder also she is the first Indian to ink a contract with Surrey Stars in the ECB Kia Super League.

In the last edition, Women Big Bash Leauge Harmanpreet was player of the tournament for her excellent all-rounder performance she scored 400 plus runs at a strike rate of almost 131 and claimed 15 wickets.

Indian women’s cricket team skipper Harmanpreet was supposed to miss out initial two matches of WBBL because of her international commitments.

Her WBBL Franchise-Melbourne Renegades coach Simon Helmot was confident that she will be available for the rest of the tournament. He said, ” Harmanpreet is a fantastic player and had performed brilliantly last season for us but unfortunately she is ruled out due to injury”.

Missing out on Harmanpreet is said to be major setback for her WBBL franchise, her fans are expecting her to recover soon from her back injury and be on the field as soon as possible.
