In the first match against Ireland yesterday, the Indian side won the toss but decided to opt for the ball. But say it a fortunate or unfortunate part, a downpour of rain started as the match began. The rain caused the match to be reduced to 12 overs.
At the beginning itself, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who took the wicket of Andy Balbirnie whereas from the other end, it was the captain of the team India who was initially hit by the shot of Paul Stirling, the next minute grabbed the batsman’s wicket when he was just 4 of 5, a beautiful catch was taken by Deepak Hooda.
#PaulStirling faced the first ball of #BhuvneshwarKumat and that left everyone perplexed as the speed gun showed that the delivery was bowled at 201 kmph #IREvIND https://t.co/E1YFQwG8fc

Then following the footsteps of the captain Hardik, Avesh Khan grabbed his first wicket in the form of Gareth Delany when he was 8 of 9 runs. From the Irish side, it was only Harry Tector who scored 64 runs being not, out of 33 deliveries.
Ireland’s team scored 108 runs in 12 overs for the Indian side to chase.
Well, now it was the turn of the Indian team to showcase their hitting abilities to the Irish team. From the Hardik-led Indian side, it was Deepak Hooda who blistered 47* off 29 balls, Ishan Kishan who played short but useful 26 runs off 11 deliveries, and the captain himself who gathered useful 24 runs of 12 deliveries.

The interesting about Hardik’s batting was he became the first captain to take wickets which too his first international T20I match in a foreign land.
The Indian team during their innings managed to score the run chase in just 9.2 over and took the lead by 1-0.
Not the second match between the two teams is going to take place tomorrow, i.e., 28th June 2022, which will also be the last and final match of the 2-match T20I series between the two teams.
