From Sachin to Shastri Cricket fraternity wish Rafael Nadal on French Open win

Rafael Nadal on achieving his 14th grand slam total, received best wishes not only from his peers, friends and family, but also from the legends of the cricket world including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri to Harbhajan Singh. The tennis legend, Nadal, who is also known to be called as the “King of Clay” has proved his mettle in the courts of Ronald Garros this Sunday night.

In the final open match, Nadal defeated the Norway’s star player Casper Rood, by 6-3, 6-3 and 6-0 lead and won the French open title for the 14th time.

On the occasion for such a great achievement, Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, congratulate Nadal saying,

“To go out there and win a record 14th French Open & 22nd Grand Slam at the age of 36 is an incredible achievement. Congratulations,”

Another legendary former cricketer from South Africa, praised Nadal for his achievement saying,

“Just watched the most special tribute to Rafa Nadal on Supersport and realised all over again how special the man is. Also found out that Casper Ruud attended his academy and faces the master in the final today. Incredible! So, how good is Rafa’s academy then?”

Sports buff similar to like Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri also could resist himself and congratulated the French open title winner, referring him to be the “Modern Day Hercules” whereas Virender Sehwag termed him as “King of Clay”.

There were so many players and high-profile dignitaries from all across the world came forward wishing Rafael Nadal the best.

Just before the final match, Nadal came in to sudden limelight for coming in support of his opponent from Germany, naming Alexander Zverev, who faced an injury in his right ankle and had to abruptly taken off the court due to his unavailability to play any further. Rafael helping his opponent during the match said he felt “very sorry” for the world no.3 in such painful condition.

But after his win at the French open final, Nadal Called him a very normal guy and if he can do it somebody else can do it.
