Former Pakistan captain praises Mohammed Siraj’s “Impactful Presence”

Mohammed Siraj has been earning plaudits for his performances for a long time, and the latest in the list of his admirers is former Pakistan captain, Salman Butt.

The young pacer took three crucial wickets for India during the second Test in Mumbai. He helped get rid of New Zealand’s threatening pair of Will Young and Tom Latham, before going on to dismiss veteran batsman Ross Taylor.

Siraj has definitely made his mark and created a spot for himself in the Indian cricket team, and Butt believes the 27-year-old has an “impactful presence” on the field.

Salman Butt said.

“He looks like an impactful player. He’s a strong young player that brings a lot of energy to the game.”His mindset is that of a pure fast bowler”

“That Indian mindset is frequently misplaced from the fast bowling attack. As frequently seen in India, only about 2-3 fast bowlers are prompt and easy-going and that attitude gives them a different edge.”

The ex-Pakistan skipper also backed Siraj to make the final XI ahead of the South Africa tour later this month. He also added, “If they’re fit and ready to go”, then “Bumrah, Shami and Siraj should be the first line of attack.

Kohli commented :

“Siraj is a talented and experienced guy and he has come a long way.”  Every time he bowls, he gives it his everything, and his performance is a great lift for him. ” We should have trust in a man like that.”

“It is a great sign for any team to have a bowler like that who can give you key breakthroughs which can prove to be the difference in winning a Test match or drawing it.”

Just look at the Lord’s Test against England, the ball just stopped swinging, but because of his skill, he was able to receive the ball on the wicket.” He’s gone some way, and practically he is  in the best place of his bowling career. It’s about knocking that skill, maintaining in shape, and being the bowler the team wants him to be,”

The win also saw team India return to the top of the ICC Test rankings, followed by New Zealand, who are on 121 points. Australia, England, and Pakistan are third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
