Suresh Raina, the former CSK team player has assessed the Delhi Capital team’s captain Rishabh Pant and revealed that Pant as a captain has done well. The confidence the captain has helped Kuldeep Yadav regain is something quite outstanding. Kuldeep was out of form past for two years and during the selection hours also there were no buyers for him; but the Delhi Capitals team keeping hope in the player chose him and today he is the leading wicket-taker in the team with 17 wickets. As a player, Kuldeep has attributed a lot in the team this year.

Suresh Raina said "Rishabh Pant is a big match player, he has utilised Kuldeep so well – as a batsman, he will click soon, a big knock is coming – he has the potential to win the matches alone".

While speaking to Star Sports, Suresh said,
“Pant for me has been doing great as a captain. He has utilised Kuldeep Yadav very well and now he is winning matches for Delhi. But Pant – the batsman – still has to fire. He is a big player, and with coach Ricky Ponting behind him, he is going to click soon and a big innings is coming soon,”

He further added saying,
“Also, I believe Delhi Capitals are not playing like a compact unit. Other players in the team will also have to take up the responsibility and contribute,”
Apart from Suresh Raina, Md kaif also came formed in support of the DC team captain saying that Pant should work on his approach on how he is wanting to deal with the upcoming matches whether he wants to play the entire 20 overs for a full or need to play the skipper innings and leave. The approach is one place Pant has to work upon, Kaif said.
“Pant has the potential to win matches alone but his performance as a batsman hasn’t been up to the mark this year. So, I feel there’s the pressure of being successful as a captain and as a batsman too.”
On 8th May, i.e., Sunday, the DC team will be facing the four-time IPL champions the Chennai Super Kings and it will be interesting to see how Rishabh Pant showcases his skills in front of his guru, the legendary MS Dhoni.
