The former Liverpool player will fight in Hit It. An event to be held in Rotterdam promoted by kickboxer Rico Verhoeven. Kuyt will train to fight and said:
“As a former soccer player, I know what it’s like to be in a stadium. It’s been about four years since I stopped playing soccer. And of course, I miss that tension and that fight to win a game. I’ve played quite a few other sports like tennis, paddle tennis and fitness. But getting in a ring is new to me. So, I would love to get into that battle against another celebrity. I will train hard from now on.”
Dirk Kuyt’s post-retirement career is turning more interesting every week. From participating in an illegal gamble scheme to boxing: he’s full of surprises. https://t.co/zlezEKGLIW

Verhoeven was champion and will fight in a ring again at the same event. While Kuyt’s fight will be the pre-fight. Although he still has no confirmed opponent.
Other active players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema are also regulars in the gloves. Fernando Torres, now retired and training Atlético Madrid’s B team, is also a lover of the sport. He has even undergone a major physical change since retiring from soccer.
Many players love boxing and may follow in Kuyt’s footsteps in the future. The ex-Liverpool crack who now wants to make a career in the ring.
Rico Verhoeven's next fight will be on October 29 in Ahoy Rotterdam, but not in GLORY.

Kuyt began his career as a footballer at Utrecht and in 2003 he joined Feyenoord, his first experience of playing for a big Dutch club.
Just two years later he managed to take the captain’s armband. And he was key in the Eredivisie to get to wear the jersey of the Dutch national team.
Kuyt had a great level and arrived at Liverpool in exchange for 9 million euros. He played there for 6 years where he only won one title and left for Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Three years in Turkey and another two back in Holland wearing the shirt of Feyenoord were the kick-off of his retirement. But the icing on the cake was to end his career with Quick Boys. The team where he was formed in the lower divisions. And he played in the Dutch third division.
In total, Kuyt played three times in the FIFA World Cup. He reached the final in South Africa 2010. But his country lost to Spain in the final.
In addition, he holds a third place in the FIFA World Cup in Brazil 2014. And with the Netherlands jersey he played more than 100 official matches.
