English Football Night – Carabao Cup

The Carabao Cup does not stop due to Coronavirus and we will have the three remaining Quarterfinal matches. Arsenal awaits in the semifinals for one of the rivals that will be from the Premier League. All matches will be at 1:15 AM.

Brentford – Chelsea

The Bees will seek to enter the Carabao Cup semi-finals for the first time in their own stadium and against the European champions. Like all Premier League teams, Brentford has heavy casualties and hopes that at least Mathias Jensen will recover. Everything is given for the return of captain Pontus Jansson as a starter.

Chelsea lives a similar reality and the discomfort is great because they were forced to play against Wolves with 7 players out due to Coronavirus. Thomas Tuchel trained with 8 players from the U23 team and one of them is expected to be on the team. The one who will surely not be there is N’Golo Kanté: the coach admitted that putting him in the last game was irresponsible.

Brentford: Fernandez; Fosu-Henry, Goode, Jansson, Thompson, Rasmussen; Jensen, Bidstrup, Ghoddos; Forss, Toney.

Chelsea: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Sarr, Rudiger; James, Saúl, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Barkley; Havertz.

Neither of them is in the best form and Brentford won their last match, but Chelsea played at least two games in the last two days and the shooting can work in their favor. Being a Big Six team before one called a boy, it pays 2.15 and surprises. Although you may have to see that the previous round they drew against Southampton and went through penalties.

Liverpool – Leicester

We will have an exciting and tactical match. Liverpool will go out in search of goals and Leicester will wait crouched to snatch the dream of going to the semi-finals. Jurgen Klopp will not be able to count on Andrew Robertson due to suspension and has at least 7 casualties between injuries and Coronavirus: Virgil van Dijk, Thiago, Neco Williams, Fabinho, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot and Adrián.

Leicester is no exception with casualties and will wait until the last minute for the recovery of Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans. Otherwise, you would have almost no central defenders. Brendan Rodgers’ team was one of those harmed by the third wave and could not play the last two days of the Premier League.

Liverpool: Kelleher; Gómez, Matip, Konaté, Beck; Morton; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Frauendorf; Gordon, Firmino, Minamino.

Leicester: Schmeichel; Albrighton, Amartey, Soyuncu, Bertrand; Tielemans, Soumaré, Dewsbury-Hall; Maddison, Daka, Barnes.

Liverpool is the favorite and has odds of 1.85, but will not present a starting team. If Leicester puts Maddison and Tielemans on the field, the probability of winning at odds 4.0 is very high. I would play a Leicester +1.

Tottenham – West Ham

There will be a London classic at the Carabao Cup: Spurs and Hammers will meet in search of the semifinals. Tottenham is coming off a lucky match against Liverpool for the Premier League and their form is not the best. They had to postpone 4 games in the last 20 days and were virtually eliminated from the UEFA Conference League. Cristian Romero and Dane Scarlett are the only players that Antonio Conte cannot use.

West Ham were the ashen of the Premier League, but won only 1 of their last 6 meetings. The level dropped considerably, but it reached this stage by eliminating Manchester City, the last champion of all English tournaments. Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Ben Johnson are out for this encounter.

Tottenham: Lloris; Tanganga, Sánchez, Rodon, Davies, Reguilón; Skipp, Winks, Ndombelé; Kane, Bergwijn.

West Ham: Areola; Ashby, Dawson, Diop, Masuaku; Noble, Král; Fornals, Lanzini, Vlasic; Yarmolenko.

Tottenham is positioned as a favorite, but it will be a fought match and with many substitutes who will seek to be relevant in their few opportunities. West Ham knows how to eliminate greats in this tournament and make them suffer in the Premier League.
