Yet one another day is left before the kickstart of the fifth rescheduled Test match between England and India. For both teams, it can be said the most awaited match to be played, why? It is because the tournament’s final results are still awaiting and once the match finishes the results will be out who’s the winner.

The fifth test match between both teams is a rescheduled one from the last year, which got canceled due to the COVID spread. But nothing to worry about further as the game resumes with much more vigor and excitement.

If we speak from England’s side, the newly elected skipper Ben Stokes made some bold statements before the game saying,

“Obviously, it’s going to be a completely different… different opposition, with their attack and players as well. We’ll be concentrating on what we’ve done well over these last three games and look to continue that against India on Friday.”

The English skipper also vowed by saying,

“Regardless of the opposition, we’re still going to have the same mindset,”

In response to what Ben said a perfect reply was heard from the veteran Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar, who said,

“Test matches are a five-day affair, and the T20s are different completely. You can’t do the same kind of batting in both unless you have to win the match at the end, which England did in the last test”

From the Indian side, Rohit’s participation seems doubtful at the opener and the captain still needs a bit of recovery before the match ahead but as rumors on the internet, Jasprit’s Bumrah would probably be given the charge.

Now let’s understand the fifth match details about the two team as moving forward:

  • Match – England vs. India, 5th test, Indian tour to England
  • Venue – Edgbaston – Birmingham
  • Time & Date – 3:00 PM Indian standard Time / 1st July till 5th July

England vs. India, fifth test – Weather Report

With very high percentage of precipitation, the signs for rains are very much likely and which at all is not good news for both the teams. However, humidity can be another concern in the region with up to 64 percentage.

England vs. India, fifth test – Pitch Report

Pitch of Birmingham looks quite a balanced one but slightly with some extra bounce in the initial overs of the game. However, after some time, the pitch will settle itself to be humbling towards the batting order as well as good for the spinners.

England vs. India, fifth test Probable XI Squad

England – Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Alex Lees, Ben Stokes (c), Ollie Pope, Matty Potts/Jamie Overton, Ben Foakes, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach, James Anderson

In a latest update,

“Ollie Pope will wear a camera on his helmet while fielding at short leg against India in the 5th Test. This is happening for the first time in Test cricket history. (Reported by Evening Standard)”

India – Mayank Agarwal/Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah (c), Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin

Match Prediction – Ind vs England in their fifth Test is scheduled to take place from July 1st, and will see two fierce teams clashing against each other at Edgbaston. The way the English are playing it looks like they are all set putting all in their match. A player like Joe Root, Ollie Pope, and Zak Crawley can be a serious threat to the Indian team due to form they are in whereas from India, it’s a sort of mixed feeling because the squad as compared to the former doesn’t look very promising.

Final Prediction – England has better chance to win the match.
