England captain retires from international cricket ahead of series with India

The England cricket team has won only one ODI World Cup so far in history. This title was also won in 2019 under the captaincy of Oen Morgan. Morgan played the first international match with the Ireland team.

Eoin Morgan Retirement: Oen Morgan, the captain of England’s white-ball cricket (ODI-T20) team, has announced his retirement from international cricket. The cricketing career of 35-year-old Morgan has been of 16 years. Morgan has taken this decision just before the series against Team India. Actually, the Indian team is on a tour of England these days. Here under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, a series of one Test, three T20 and three ODIs is to be played. The limited-overs (ODI-T20) series will start on July 7.

England won the first World Cup under Morgan’s captaincy

Recently, it was told in media reports that Morgan can announce their retirement on Tuesday. This has also happened to be true. Morgan has been England’s most successful ODI captain. He has won England the ODI World Cup (2019) title for the first time under his captaincy. Morgan captained the English team in 126 ODIs, in which the team won 76.

Morgan played a total of 248 ODIs in his career, scoring 7701 runs with 14 centuries. Morgan did not get much chance in the test. He played 16 Tests, scoring 700 runs with 2 centuries.
