Chelsea is world champion – FIFA Club World Cup – Playon99 News

The Blues prevailed against Palmeiras of Brazil thanks to a goal in extra time. Lukaku, Veiga and Havertz scored the goals in a game that seemed like a war. Abramovich will be able to rest easy because in London he already has all the trophies he could get – Playon99 News

With more than 15,000 followers in Abu Dhabi, Palmeiras loved him more and fought until the end, but he did not win.

They will continue to be teased by their neighbors San Pablo and Corinthians for being the only big player in their city not to be world champion.

The FIFA Club World Cup was also the only title Chelsea lacked, but it could no longer: Kai Havertz, who had scored the decisive goal to win the Champions League in Portugal in May, also scored the goal with which the Londoners became world champions

It was a heavy, thick, slow game. Palmeiras didn’t mind giving up possession and trying to hit the counterattack: it’s something he did in the last two Copa Libertadores he lifted.

The Brazilians did not believe less and continually threatened with the speed of Dudu, Rony and Raphael Veiga. The first of them had some of the clearest chances of the duel, but his aim was lacking.

Chelsea lacked ideas like in the semi-final against Al Hilal. He was unable to find spaces, there was no one who had a moment of lucidity and saw the solution.

No one took that responsibility. Neither Mason Mount, who left half an hour into the game due to physical problems. The only options they found were long range shots from Thiago Silva and Antonio Rüdiger! who are its central defenders.

Fortunately for the Blues and the half hour of play, Romelu Lukaku jumped, beat two defenders and connected with a cross from Callum Hudson-Odoi to make it 1-0 that didn’t seem like it was going to come.

Palmeiras reacted quickly, but it was Thiago Silva who brought them back to life: the Brazilian central defender hit a cross with his hand and caused a penalty that Veiga converted to tie the game.

The readjustments that both coaches made ten minutes later closed a game that had only just begun. The scorers left and the chances were reduced until extra time.

Chelsea realized that penalties halved their chances of being champions and went in search of the result.

The Brazilians were still huddled together in their own area and the English defenders continued with their fronton game: they hung the ball, the white wall cleared it and they got it again.

Another penalty for hands in the area decided the tournament: this time it was Luan who was unable to move his arm away from César Azpilicueta’s shot.

Havertz tricked Weverton and calmly fired to make Chelsea the world champions. Roman Abramovich already has the only title that was missing from the Stamford Bridge showcases.
