Bangla wicketkeeper raises voice for fake fielding by Kohli

Bangladesh wicketkeeper Batsman Nurul Hasan has accused Indian maestro Virat Kohli of ‘fake fielding’. This went unnoticed by the referee on the field and in his Cup match at T20 Worlds. He deprived his team of five crucial penalties of his runs. Bangladesh set a corrected target of 151 in 16 overs after a brief rain shower and was 5 runs short. His skipper Shakib Al Hasan conceded they lost fair. But Nurul, who held Bangladesh in the final by 6 and 4 against Arshdeep Singh, criticized the referee on the field after the match. “Anyway, when play resumed, the wet outfield made an impact. But there was also a wrong throw that could have given five runs, but I didn’t get it.”

How it all happened?

Video Footage showed Arshdeep throwing the ball from deep, while Kohli was pretending to pass the ball to the non-striker side at the time. Catch it and throw it on a stump. Nurul’s claims are called into question as the two batsmen, Litton Das and Nazim Hossein Shanto, had not even met Kohli. Rule 41.5 of the ICC Rule of the Game relates to unfair play and prohibits a defensive team from “deliberately distracting, deceiving or interfering with a batter”. If the referee determines that someone has broken the rules, the referee considers it a dead ball and can give a 5-point penalty. Nurul accused Kohli of throwing it wrong but generally ignored the term “distraction and deception”. did. Conversely, Nurul could be penalized for criticizing match officials.

In a rain-affected 16-over match, Lytton Das ignited a chase for Bangladesh at 27 to 60, but the batsmen were unable to lead the team home. “He (Litton Das) is our best hitter. The way he powerplays gave us a lot of momentum and gave us faith that we could pursue it here on the short border.”
