All About The Best Awards – Playon99 News

FIFA rewards the best of the 2020-21 season at 1:30 AM (India) virtually like last year. PlayOn99 News tells you everything you need to know about the awards for football players, coaches and clubs – Football Awards

Today all eyes will be on Zurich when the International Federation of Associated Football awards the best of 2020-21 in each short list.

How are the winners defined? Registered fans had the opportunity to vote on and that will represent a percentage of points, just like in the NBA, while coaches, captains and a journalist for each FIFA-registered national team will also cast their vote.

At PlayOn99 News we review each prize that will be awarded virtually and without the stars present.

  • Best player of the year:

-Lionel Messi: The Argentine won this year’s Ballon d’Or and will want to win his second The Best award, as he did in 2019.

-Robert Lewandowski: The Polish striker was the Golden Boot in the season and everything seems to indicate that he will keep the award.

-Mohamed Salah: The Liverpool player has been the best and most decisive player in the world for six months, but his 2020-21 season was not the best to get the award.

  • Best goalkeeper of the year:

-Gianluigi Donnarumma: The goalkeeper of PSG and the Italian national team was captain and decisive leader to win the European Championship.

-Édouard Mendy: The Senegalese from Chelsea managed to establish himself at the world level, he is currently playing in the AFCON and was important in being the first African goalkeeper to win the Champions League.

-Manuel Neuer: “Time goalkeeper”, there is no other more accurate definition of the German who marked the history of those who have to stand under a goal in the last 15 years.

  • Púskas, the best goal of the year:

Érik Lamela: The Argentine who plays in Seville scored a rabona goal when he still had the Tottenham shirt, no less than against Arsenal, during the London Derby.

-Patrik Schick: The striker from the Czech Republic was the top scorer in the European Championship and signed the best goal of the tournament, shooting from almost half the pitch.

-Mehdi Taremi: It was the quarterfinals of the Champions League and the Iranian striker from Porto gave victory to his team with a great scissors, although they were eliminated against Chelsea.

  • Best coach of the year:

Pep Guardiola: The historic manager of Manchester City was Premier League champion with a 12-point lead, Champions League finalist and won the Carabao Cup.

-Thomas Tuchel: he took command of Chelsea in January 2021 and it took him just six months to be champion of the Champions League, fourth in the Premier League and finalist in the FA Cup.

-Roberto Mancini: The coach led Italy to the European Championship and had one of the best winning streaks with more than 35 games, but his inclusion generated controversy because he did not qualify for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

  • Fair Play:

-Denmark players and staff: The Danish national team acted in a great way when Christian Eriksen collapsed in the middle of the European Championship due to a heart problem.

-Scott Brown: The Celtic captain expressed his solidarity with Glen Kamara -Rangers player, eternal rival- after he suffered racist abuse.

-Claudio Ranieri: The Italian coach was in charge of Sampdoria and sent the team to make a tunnel in reception of the Serie A champion, Inter, in the previous match.
