10 Most Valuable Players 37 years and older? – PlayOn99 News

PlayOn99 News brings you the selection of the 10 most valuable players aged 37 and over who are active. Come in and find out who they are.

By Facundo Di Bona (@facudibona).

The prestigious page specialized in the market, Transfer market, launched a ranking with the ten valuable players aged 37 or over with the best active price.

In PlayOn99 News we leave you the list that has surprises, strangers and valuable players that cannot be missed.

10. Carlos Sánchez (Santos) – €1 million

The 37-year-old Uruguayan midfielder is facing his final years as a soccer player in one of the most intense tournaments in the world, the Brasileirao.

After a great stage with River Plate in Argentina where he won the Copa Libertadores de América, he went through Mexico and now Brazil to have enough experience that gave him the chance to play the FIFA World Cup with the Uruguayan national team.

9. Leonardo Burian (Colón de Santa Fe) – €1.1 million

The goalkeeper, also Uruguayan, is an idol of the Argentine team for his great performance that helped him reach the final of the Copa Sudamericana in 2020 and be champion of Argentina in 2021 at the age of 38.

8. Joaquin (Real Betis) – €1.5 million

The Spanish midfielder is still playing football at 40 years of age and in February he will reach his 20-year career.

After returning to Betis in 2015, he is still the only active player who won the Copa del Rey with the Sevilla green team in the 2004-05 season.

7. Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus) – €1.5 million

The historic Italian defender has been wearing the Juventus shirt for 17 years without interruption and was the European Championship champion with the Italian national team as a starter last season.

Chiellini is a legend endorsed by winning Serie A on 9 occasions, as well as Serie B and C, the Italian Cup and Super Cup, and the U-19 European Championship.

6. Luis Miguel Rodríguez (Colón de Santa Fe) – €1.5 million

The surprise of the list made by the German site is that only one team repeats two players and it is none other than Sabalero from Argentina.

The historic striker nicknamed Pulga is 37 years old and, like Burián, he was champion of Argentina – the only title in the history of Colón – and a finalist in the Copa Sudamericana.

He returned to the Santa Fe club this season after a fleeting stint at Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, where he went exclusively to honor Diego Armando Maradona after his death.

5. Andres Iniesta (Vissel Kobe) – €2 million

The 37-year-old Spanish legend is the only world champion on this list and was none other than responsible for scoring the game-winning goal to lift the FIFA World Cup.

After playing for Barcelona since 2003 and when everyone thought that Iniesta would end his career at the club where he won four Champions Leagues, he made the decision to go to the Japanese league and has been there since 2018.

4. Samir Handanovic (Inter Milan) – €2.5 million

The 37-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper arrived at Inter Milan in 2012 and has not moved from the Italian goal in these ten years.

After so much waiting, he was able to shout champion in the last Serie A and reached 419 games, becoming the second goalkeeper with the most appearances, only behind the historic Walter Zenga (473 games)

3. Thiago Silva (Chelsea) – €2.5 million

The Brazilian defender born in Rio de Janeiro arrived at The Blues last season and was able to shake off the thorn of winning the Champions League at the age of 37.

He came from Fluminense in Brazil, went through Milan and became famous in Paris Saint-Germain, where he was coached by Thomas Tuchel, was captain and spent eight seasons.

2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Milan) – €4 million

What can be said about Zlatan? As contradictory as he sounds, words like rebel, egocentric, leader, magical, crack, but -above all- special define him.

The Swedish striker is 40 years old, he returned to wear the Milan shirt to reverse the poor results and achieved it with a runner-up finish in Serie A last season.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) – €35 million

The Portuguese striker turned 37 on February 5 and was the reason why Transfer market drew up this list with CR7 leading the numbers by scandal.

CR7 returned to Manchester United to make history and this season in the Premier League does not reflect that at all, but he is the oldest in the team and is still one of the best players in the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo has said more than once that he plans to play at the highest level until he is 40 years old and to do so undergo rejuvenation treatments, but we want to ask you until what age do you think he can continue competing in Europe?
